Summer SAVY Session 6, Day 3, Cracking the Case

We had another great lab today! We cracked an important case of dognapping! We used chromatography to analyze ink samples. They used a solvent to separate the components of the ink of different pens to discover who left in a ransom note to determine who was the dognaper! Case Closed! 

Students worked to achieve these daily objectives through our labs:  

• Analyze the acidic and basic traits of liquid samples  
• Compare and contrast liquid samples 
• Apply evidence from liquid samples to a criminal case 

• Describe the relationship betrween scientific evidence and suspects in a criminal case
