Summer SAVY Session 4, Day 4, From Myth to Modern Legend (Schwartz)
Day 4: Today, we studied one final story of mythological heroism, began our own myth-making, and finished our Greek-inspired board games.
In the morning, we began by reading and discussing the story of Jason and the Argonauts, which brings together many of the characters whom we have met throughout the week for a final heroic quest. We also began brainstorming our own myths, which will extend and reinvent the classical tales we have read and watched together.
In the afternoon, we began writing our myths and did our final work on our board games. Students’ projects are creative and personal! They will present their work to the other section of “Myth to Modern Legend” tomorrow afternoon. I can’t wait to see their finished drafts!
