Summer SAVY Session 2, Day 5 – Witty Wordplay
Day 5: Today was a fun day in the Witty Wordsmith community. We started off the day reading “Fantastic! Wow! and Unreal!” by Ruth Heller to talk about interjections, similes, metaphors, and how to make them.
The middle of the day consisted of students drafting and editing their ‘debatable statements’. Students had to make a debatable statement and include an interjection and a simile or metaphor. We placed their finished versions in their book, as well as a copy of the comics they made.
The day finished with us playing the system games that we created. The kids had such a great time.
