Summer SAVY Session 2, Day 4 – Witty Wordplay
Day 4: We began our day by working on our language systems comic and finishing up building our systematic board games! Around mid-morning our author, Jessica Young, visited on Zoom to listen to our onomatopoeia poems and give feedback on their writing. Ms. Young gave us rave reviews and was visibly appreciative of how far our campers were able to take the themes in her book.
Around midday, we individually chose a class or personal book to identify and describe interjections and prepositions and craft a literature web.
We ended the day discussing debatable questions and statements. Students presented arguments and counterarguments for a predetermined topic before developing their own. Tomorrow, we’ll flesh out our debatable statement with a persuasive paragraph and finally be able to play our board games as a class! It’s been so much fun this week. I can’t believe our last day is so soon.
