Summer SAVY 2019: Session 2, Day 5 – Psychology in Action (Rising 5th/6th)

Posted by on Friday, June 21, 2019 in Grade 5, Grade 6, SAVY.

Dear parents,

We were sad that today was our last day, but we were very proud to see our researchers present their work during the poster session!

As you already know, our researchers created and presented individual posters during our open-house poster session. What you may not know is that our students spent hours working together to analyze their data and create their graphs. Each poster focused on a different question and data. We were very impressed at the insights of our students as they manipulated their data sets and formulated their conclusions.

Our class also had to opportunity to learn about dissemination of research findings from a professor and graduate student from the Department of Psychology and Human Development. Our researchers survived and thrived as they presented their results to these professionals; students had many great questions to ask about experimental design and strategies to communicate findings to the public.

It has been a fun-filled and engaging week and we are happy to say that your kids are officially developmental psychology researchers!

Regards,

Mr. Israel and Ms. Emily

P.S. we have attached the student data sets, for those researchers interested in continuing to analyze data.
