Summer SAVY 2019: Session 1, Day 5 – Archaeology 101 (Rising 3rd/4th)
Today was our final day of class for Anthropology 101! We started off the morning with a trip to computer lab where students had the opportunity to pair up and research about various archaeological sites around the world. They researched information about their site’s political system, economic system, and cultural traits. After we finished, students made brochures for their site advertising the information they found and shared with each other. Students also filled on concept maps where they were able to demonstrate how much they’ve learned. I was very impressed! Afterward, we recapped and discussed all the different things we learned this week and made stations in our classroom so that we could showcase all of our work. I’ve really enjoyed teaching all of the students; they were so wonderful! They found different aspects of the class challenging but they all worked really hard and I’m so proud of them!
