Summer SAVY 2018: Session 3, Day 5 – The Makings of America (Rising 3rd/4th)

Posted by on Friday, June 29, 2018 in Grade 3, Grade 4, SAVY.

Dear SAVY Parents,

It has been my profound pleasure to work with your child this week in the course, The Makings of America:  Rebellion, Revolt, and Resolution.  I hope you and your child will continue to engage in some of the ideals and concepts that we have only begun to explore.  Your child has been equipped with thinking strategies and reasoning models that can be generalized to any content of study, area of interests, real life problem or situation.

Some questions that we did not get to in our course that you may wish to consider:  Did the events of post war colonial life cause new struggles in the Colonies?  What events in Great Britain were a direct cause of the loss of the War for Colonial Independence?  What if the Colonies had decided to invade Great Britain after the war?  As always, we look to challenge our thinking with evidence and logical thinking.  So many questions to explore!  Doing so will help our next generation to identify and work out problems with solutions that avoid the tragedies of the past.

Thank you again for sharing your child with us this past week!  Happy Independence Day!
