Summer SAVY 2018: Session 1, Day 5 – Dabbling with DNA, Dr. O (Rising 3rd and 4th)

Posted by on Friday, June 15, 2018 in Grade 3, Grade 4, SAVY.

Good afternoon parents and students,

We started off the morning by playing crazy traits, where students build unique wooden bugs based on their genotype. Random catastrophes would occur and we got to see which bug would survive extinction!

We also finished our GMO virtual biolab and our characteristics graphs. Everyone should have them now, and if you don’t please email me at: joshua.ohair@gmail.com.

We investigated our GMO corn experiment results and the verdict was the squirrels really didn’t care if the corn was GMO or non-GMO. They just love food!

I’ve had a great time getting to know each and everyone of you. Thank you again parents for this opportunity to get to know your little geniuses. They are very bright and have become even smarter after all the interesting topics we covered throughout the week.

Sincerely,

Dr.O

P.S.

Below are some links to videos that we watched during the week. Please review them in your spare time and watch them together!
