Spring SAVY 2018, Day 4- A Great Debate (3rd/4th)
Saturday was another great day in Debate. We had some absences so our teams were remade and this required new topics! Fortuitous. We built on our policy style of debate by having two person teams spend five minutes each of guided time on the computer looking for actual evidence to back up our logical arguments. This needed secrecy and it was really enjoyable to strategize in private with our partners. We began to touch on the basics of public speaking; rate of speech, understandability, and body movement so that our skills of persuasion can go beyond just who had a better argument and into who is better at arguing as a whole. Sometimes the packaging makes a difference. We argued which is better, Pepsi or Coke? The jury is still out. See you all next weekend!
