Summer SAVY 2017, Session 3/Day 1- Mirror of Mythology (Rising 2nd/3rd- Rhoads)

Ancient cultures used mythology to explain everyday occurrences and to help them solidify their own identities. Today we talked about what myths are and how mythology even influences the superhero movies of the 21st century.

We also compared the creation myths of the Iroquois tribe in North America and the ancient Greeks to see how many myths have things in common–even if they’re from completely different parts of the globe.

We ended class today by creating a know/ wonder/ learn chart to help your children keep track of what they are learning this week [please include the attached photo].

Ask your children what they want to learn from this course and encourage them to start looking for those answers this week.
