Summer SAVY 2017, Session 2/Day 2- Survive and Thrive (Rising 1st)
Happy Second Day!
Today the students continued to understand that “change is everywhere”. They were challenged to think of non-examples of change. This was a much difficult task than identifying things that do change. This process made them recognize that almost everything changes. The students were also introduced to the generalization of “change is related to time.” They took a nature walk in order to journal the many examples of this generalization.
The students reviewed the science safety rules by setting up the habitats for their mealworms. As scientists, they learned the importance of providing dates and time for their observations and journaling. They will begin doing research on mealworms and their characteristics. They will learn the life cycle of mealworms and how to properly care for them.
Sincerely,
Dr. P. ☺
