Fall SAVY 2016 (Day 5) – Media Mania!
Hello Media Mania parents,
Today was one of our favorites! We hit the ground running and began collecting data from real participants (Vanderbilt graduate students) in two of Vanderbilt’s research labs! Our class designed four experiments, which all went smoothly! Every student had the chance to serve as a real researcher as they interacted professionally with the graduate student subjects.
After we collected our data, the class had a chance to learn about some current studies going on in our labs and experience what it would be like to work as a real researcher in psychology.
We are a little sad that next week is our last day, but we are also excited because the class will get to analyze their results and find out if their hypotheses are supported or not from our work today. They will also learn about how researchers disseminate study findings to the public and have the opportunity to create and “peer review” their own academic posters, which we will reveal to parents during the open house! It has been a fun-filled and engaging semester and we are happy to say that your kids are officially media researchers!
