Summer SAVY 2016 (Session 3, Day 4) – What’s the Matter
Students were hard at work this morning in What’s the Matter! They continued honing their concept mapping skills before learning how to float paperclips in a bowl of water! Who knew surface tension could be so fun? Next, students made paper airplanes as we talked about air. They made observations, took measurements, adjusted variables, and analyzed data. Later, we revisited change as we watched matter change phase from solid to liquid to gas and back to liquid. Finally we talked about gases by releasing air from a polystyrene foam cup! After tomorrow’s open house (9-9:30 AM), students will explore density layers and get to the bottom of the mystery goop!
