Spring 2020 Online PD Opportunities
Thinking Like An Expert: A Live Online PD Series
How do you help your academically advanced students think like experts in English Language Arts? Learn models vetted by content experts and review examples of field tested units designed through Vanderbilt Programs for Talented Youth.
Join us for one or more 2-hour sessions that include an overview of the ways to help your elementary and middle school students analyze texts and answer complex questions.
You may sign up for one session or for all of them! Registration fees for each session cover the cost of a complimentary electronic copy of a PTY curriculum unit. We hope to see you online this spring!
Dates
Three different dates are available and participants can register for one or multiple dates.
April 30 – Adding Complexity Through Literary Analysis for Middle and Early High School Gifted Students

May 7 – Integrating ELA and Science for Gifted Learner in Elementary and Middle School

Cancellations and Refunds
Refunds are provided for cancelations made up to 48 hours prior to the session. Cancellations within 48 hours prior to the session are not refunded. If a book was already downloaded prior to the refund request, the cost of the book will be deducted from the refund amount.
Registration Options
You have two options to register: Emailing a PDF or completing an Online Registration. You will receive this unit electronically through the email address you indicate on your registration form. We suggest using a personal email as some school systems block emails from PTY and Prufrock Press. Your electronic unit will be emailed to you by Prufrock.

*Note: PTY works with DocNetwork/SchoolDoc (an online third party provider) to collect and process student registrations. Even though you are completing a paper application, an online profile in DocNetwork will be created for you using the information you provide in this application. SchoolDoc and VU staff will have access to registration information as needed and the SchoolDoc.com site is encrypted and password protected. You will receive an email with instructions on accessing your online account and setting up a password once this application has been processed. You will also have the option of completing required forms and paying tuition through the account, if desired.
By registering you give PTY permission to load your information into the SchoolDocs account. You also give PTY permission to share your name, address, and/or email information with Prufrock Press for curriculum mailing purposes.
