In order to participate in the Vanderbilt PTY Precollege program, all students must have up-to-date required forms on file. Required Forms are required for all participants and must be updated every school year, starting in the fall. This paperwork includes permission and release forms, medication permission, allergy information, general health information, medication statements, and health insurance documentation. Based on university policy, students are not permitted to participate in Vanderbilt PTY Precollege if this paperwork is incomplete at the start of the program.
Once admitted, the Vanderbilt PTY Precollege Student Handbook will be available to access in the “Student Handbook” step in the Required Forms in your SchoolDoc account. We recommend that you download the Student Handbook for easy access and review with your student.

Arrival: PTY’s required shuttle service at the airport will begin at 11:30AM CST on check-in day. Please schedule a flight that arrives in Nashville between 11:00AM and 4:00PM CST. The earliest a Vanderbilt PTY Precollege shuttle will pick up students from the airport is 11:30AM. A PTY staff member will be present at BNA’s baggage claim area to greet all students to Nashville beginning at 11:00AM. Additional information, including logistics for meeting the PTY staff member, the name of the PTY staff who will be greeting the student, and contact information for day-of correspondence, will be emailed closer to the start of the program. Note that once on campus students will not receive the keys to their rooms until official check-in begins. Students arriving to campus by shuttle earlier than the beginning of official check-in will be fully supervised in a waiting area on campus until check-in officially begins.
Students flying into Nashville alone, should fly into Nashville International Airport (BNA). Students flying alone must be old enough to travel alone without the Unaccompanied Minor Service. Vanderbilt PTY Precollege cannot provide Unaccompanied Minor escorts for individual travelers.
Departure: Students flying alone out of Nashville are required to take the PTY shuttle to BNA on check-out day during the set hours of the shuttle service. Please schedule your student’s departing flights within the window below:
The final shuttle from campus will drop students off at the BNA airport at 11:30 AM CST.
If you book a flight outside of the windows listed above, your students may have extended and unsupervised wait times at the airport. Please contact the Vanderbilt PTY Precollege office (precollege@vanderbilt.edu) before booking the flight if the departure time is outside the windows listed.
