Marisa Flores

Marisa Flores rejoined the Programs for Talented Youth team in 2023 as Director of Elementary Programs after previously serving as the Assistant Director of Vanderbilt Summer Academy in 2019. Marisa earned a B.S. in Human Development & Family Studies from Texas Tech University, an Elementary Education Post Bacc from Lubbock Christian University, and an M.Ed. in Community Development & Action from Vanderbilt University. Marisa’s graduate work focused on utilizing program evaluation and organizational development to better support sustainable, inclusive, and intentional youth-centered communities. Marisa has over 15 years of experience leading youth and youth programs across the country within schools, immersive summer experiences, and community-based programs. As Director of Elementary Programs, Marisa oversees all aspects of the K-6 SAVY (Summer/Saturday Academy at Vanderbilt University for the Young) and rising 7-8 Career Connections programs throughout the summer and academic year.
