SAVY 2019: Session 6, Day 4 – The Great Debate (Rising 3rd/4th)
We are so excited to showcase our persuasive speeches tomorrow!! This morning we were busy writing and revising exactly what we want to share about our topics. The students are attempting to use rhetoric, emulating the writings of those we have studied throughout the week. This is a challenge!! I was thrilled to see the dedication that students were applying to the task. We moved on to the topic of “To What Extent is the Federal Government Responsible for the Welfare and Security of the Individual ?”. Students had to use their understanding of the different rhetorical devices to complete numerous tasks. All week we have been working on identifying the different rhetorical devices with in primary source texts. Today, we progressed from the identification to the analysis of the different rhetorical devices. The task was very challenging, but I am so proud of the hard work and dedication that students showed throughout the activity.
