Summer SAVY 2018: Session 4, Day 5 – Intro to Business (Rising 5th/6th)

Posted by on Friday, July 13, 2018 in Grade 5, Grade 6, SAVY.

Today started out with a bang as the class market evolved into a full stock market. Students’ old assets were converted to publicly traded companies and the market was fully governed by the laws of supply and demand. Many different strategies were deployed, but since the prices were consistently on the rise the early investors took the cake.

We had our stock proposals today as well! Students did an excellent job transferring their new knowledge about investing to giving sound advice about which stocks to buy. They utilized recommendations from other analysts and spoke effortlessly about value and growth investing.

It was great to meet you all at open house. I would encourage you to continue to talk with your students about the world of investing. They have fascinating ideas about things like portfolio management, risk analysis, market efficiency, business etiquette, constructive criticism, and everything else under the sun.

Thanks for a wonderful week!
