SAVY Tuition and Financial Assistance

Application Fee

A $50 nonrefundable application fee is due at the time of application for any of SAVY’s summer sessions. The application fee is nonrefundable regardless of a child’s placement or admittance in a course. This may be paid by credit or debit card as part of the online application, or with a check or money order made payable to Vanderbilt University – PTY. A tuition statement will be sent if your student is admitted into the program.


Fall or Spring SAVY: $425 per session

Summer SAVY: $550 per session

Tuition for Fall 2019 is due Friday, September 6, 2019
Tuition for Spring 2020 is due Friday, December 6, 2019

Credit card and electronic check payments can be made online in your SchoolDocs account (which is the account you created when applying). Credit card payments may also be completed over the phone. Contact PTY at 615-322-8261 or if you would like to make a payment over the phone.

Program tuition may also be paid online or via check or money order. Please mail checks or money orders payable to Vanderbilt University – PTY to:

Payments should be postmarked by the tuition deadline communicated for the specific program.

Financial Assistance

Vanderbilt Programs for Talented Youth is committed to making programs available to academically gifted students regardless of a family’s ability to pay the full tuition. Therefore, need-based financial aid is available based on income. The PTY application review process is need-blind and does not consider financial status when placing students in courses.

If you plan to apply for financial aid, please indicate this on your SAVY application. Once indicated, you will be able to complete the financial aid application online. You may also access the financial aid application through a paper application. You may apply for financial aid at any point in the application process. The financial aid application, along with a copy of your household’s most recent tax return, may be submitted via fax, mail, or email. Please note that email is not as secure as the other methods. Regardless of the submission method you choose, we recommend that you remove all SSNs and/or other sensitive information. Your student may be offered admission before receiving a financial aid quote. You are not obligated to officially enroll your student until you receive a financial aid quote. When your financial aid quote is received, you may accept or decline the amount and placement in a course.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made before the tuition due date will be eligible for a 100% tuition refund. Cancellations made after the tuition due date and before the refund deadline will be eligible for a 50% refund. After the refund deadline, no tuition refunds will be awarded. The application fee will not be refunded for any reason. A student’s tuition due date and refund deadline can be found in the admissions notification email.

Inclement Weather Policy

Weather cancellations are unfortunate for all involved, but the safety of our students and families is top priority. Should it be in the best interest of our students and families that we delay or cancel a program due to inclement weather, we will issue a timely statement to our participants via email and also on our website. SAVY is unable to offer refunds for weather cancellations and/or if students are unable to attend the make up dates, if applicable. As is our policy, the application fee is nonrefundable. No matter the official program decision, it is always most important that each family make the safest travel decisions in regard to their own situation and program attendance.
