Spring SAVY 2018, Day 1- A Great Debate (3rd/4th)
What a fantastic first day of class! We started our day by playing a “name game” to get to know each other and help everyone get comfortable sharing with their peers. We had an introduction to Socrates and Plato and how they are related to our course, learned about false premises and deductive reasoning, had a mini-debate about topics that were important to us, and started a pool of potential topics for future debate. It was a very busy first day but I am looking forward to the rest of our time together. I can’t wait to see what kind of ideas and conversations students will engage with. Everyone had solid contributions and really great listening skills, even when they did not necessarily agree with the opinions of those around them.
Resolved: I have the best students of Spring SAVY, 2018!
