Summer SAVY 2015 (Week 3, Day 3) – Graphic Literature (Rising 6th/7th)

Today was another great day for making strides in our exploration of the wide world of comics and graphic literature. Since the theme of the day was concept art, we spent much our time today developing concept art for both our villain and protagonists, considering all the factors of a large collaborative project in the process. This meant we not only had to develop personality traits, wardrobes, and accessories for our citizens of Pander, but also that we had to consider problems such as making reproduce-able designs and assigning color palettes. Without these important common references, our comics would not only lack continuity and cohesion, but a group project like the one in progress would be impossible. For projects as collaborative as long comic series can be, teamwork and communication are necessities, and we continue to make progress in honing those skills. I think I speak for all of us when I say that we’re looking forward to showing off the fruits of our labors this Friday at the open house!! Hope to see you there!
