Vanderbilt Programs for Talented Youth was recently given a gift from New York Times bestseller and Vanderbilt alumnus, James Patterson. For the past ten years, Patterson has devoted himself to championing the importance of reading. He shares his passion for books through his website ReadKiddoRead.com, his College Book Bucks scholarships, regular donations of hundreds of thousands of books to schools here in the states and troops overseas, and now through PTY’s Reading Academy at Vanderbilt (RAV).

This gift is helping to nurture a life-long love of reading in high-ability adolescents, and to support educators to prepare engaging and rigorous lessons in reading.
