Final Fantasies: Literature and Video Games

Posted by on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in professional development, VSA Blog.

Here is a brief summary of what students did in class on Tuesday from Literature and Video Games TA, David Kumler.

Today in Literature and Video Games, groups presented arguments to the class regarding the social, epistemological, ethical, and educational implications of various video games. Each group selected a video game and argued in favor of it, based on these implications. Throughout the students’ presentations, the whole class debated a number of issues that arose, ranging from the ethics of violence in video games to the value of video games that strive to make statement or engage in social commentary.
