VSA Admissions Portfolio Option
Students who do not have SAT, ACT, or PSAT scores may apply to VSA through a portfolio review process. Include all portfolio items with application. The portfolio includes:
- Most recent test scores on a nationally-normed, grade-level test for the academic area for which student is applying. Examples include, but are not limited to: TerraNova, ERB, Stanford Achievement Test (SAT-10), Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT), California Achievment Test (CAT), CoGAT, Comprehensive Test of Basic Skills (CTBS), Comprehensive Testing Program (CTB), Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS), Measuring of Acdmic Progress (MAP).
- A school transcript, if available, or a copy of the current/most recent report card, indicating high achievement in the relevant subject area.
- Two Teacher Recommendations from teachers who can speak to the ability of the student to be successful in an intensive accelerated course on a college campus. In sealed envelopes which your recommender has signed across the seal.
- Optional – A Writing Sample from an academic assignment (for humanities courses) or creative writing project (for creative writing courses).
