Workshop Description: Gifted students often spend most of the school day in general education classrooms.  For teachers, bright students who are already proficient with grade level standards prior to the beginning of a school year or unit present a smorgasbord of potential problems and distractions.  Learning usable differentiation techniques to keep these inquisitive minds engaged can turn a potential pitfall into a true reward.

This workshop will focus on differentiation techniques in general as well as how to best employ the techniques with special populations of gifted students, such as the socioeconomically disadvantaged as well as those identifying from diverse cultural, racial, and/or ethnic backgrounds.

Each day will include a morning keynote address followed by afternoon breakout sessions on related topics.  These smaller-group sessions will allow participants to discuss differentiation strategies in more detail with an expert presenter and to apply them to assorted content areas and classroom settings.

This workshop is best for regular classroom teachers, teachers of gifted, supervisors, counselors, and administrators who work with students in grades 2-9.

Click here for descriptions of afternoon breakout sessions. - Coming soon.

Cost: Participants may register for a single day or both days.  Groups of 5 or more from the same school or district who register together will receive every 5th registration free. Discount applies to full two-day workshop only. Substitutions are not permitted.
