Job Description:
The Teaching Assistant (TA) supports the development and implementation of curriculum for one VSA or WAVU course. The TA works directly with the course instructor, providing instructional support and student supervision. For VSA, the Teaching Assistant position is full-time. It is required that you hold no other jobs and take no classes during any of the summer sessions.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing clerical, instructional, and other help as the instructor requires
- Supervising students in class and during class breaks
- Modeling high academic standards and a love of learning
- Following VSA and WAVU student discipline procedures
- Preparing a written program evaluation and course evaluation by the end of each term
- Attending all class meetings
- Communicating with Instructor, Academic Coordinator, and other staff members as needed
- Assisting residential staff with select student arrival and departure duties
