Megan Parker Peters

Megan Parker Peters leads Saturday Academy at Vanderbilt for the Young. She also serves as the educational consultant and psychologist for Vanderbilt Programs for Talented Youth.  She holds a doctorate from the University of Tennessee- Knoxville’s School Psychology program. She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and the appointed chair of the National Association for Gifted Children’s Graduate Student Committee.  In addition to authoring Gifted and Talented Children within the Encyclopedia of Child Behavior and Development, she is the author or co-author of numerous journal articles on a variety of topics focusing on gifted students’ socio-emotional and educational needs. Her current research interests include the impact of accelerated curriculum on student achievement and the relationship of socio-emotional factors to giftedness.
